I bought my Delorean from the original owner in Massachusetts.

I don't really think Massachusetts had a bad record with turn signals. At all. By any stretch of the imagination. I lived in Southern New Hampshire for 20 years, never really had a problem with others not using their signals.

However.

Once I moved to DC, it became immediately apparent that NOBODY. I mean, NOBODY, uses their turn signals.

Maybe us New Englanders are just sensitive to people not using turn signals.

It started when I was about five years old, my parents had bought my older sister and I our own televisions with built-in vcrs. We mostly had Disney movies until I received "Back to the Future", I watched that tape until it was eaten by the VCR. I watched the Delorean back out of Docs' GMC truck over 1000 times, the scene has been burned into my soul. It's still my favorite movie.

When I was 19 my dad took me out for driving lessons(didn't need it at sixteen), we drove randomly around greensburg, PA, dealing with stop signs and highway traffic. When we got good and lost and it started to rain, we swapped so he could get us home. I pulled into a garage parking lot that was closed for the day, when out of the corner of my eye I spotted a delorean, after freaking out a little and staring at it while rain poured down on me, my dad told me we had to go. Only got one picture of it because I had a crappy phone.

Then in 2011 my dad and I took his all original 1960 Thunderbird to a huge annual car cruise pretty far from our house, he had always worked that day and never gotten to go. We get there and parks in the far lot that is scarcely populated as opposed to the main lot. He stays with the car and I walk around looking at cars, mostly muscle and hot rods, I did see the Herby from Herby Goes Bananas. As I walked around I noticed my dad had moved the t-bird down to the first lane of the main lot, apparently some cars had left and they asked people in the second lot to fill the gaps. There was an empty spot next to him, and as I kept walking I noticed a Delorean pulling into the show. After sprinting across a large parking lot, I caught up to it as it was parking…into the spot next to our car. I cackled insanely for a few seconds, I then talked to the owner for the rest of the day.

At 21 I was on eBay looking at delorean die-cast models when an eBay motors listing caught my eye. My brain suddenly made the connection, I could buy a Delorean. After 2 years of searching and saving my dad and I found one just near the most SE point of Massachusetts. He went up to check it out and returned with some pictures. Unknown to me had had purchased it when he went up, and was just working out getting it to Pittsburgh. After going to work one day he got a call that he told me was our air compressor motor finally fixed after it had snapped the shaft, and that he was going to get it, leaving me at work. He then later calls saying he needs help getting it out of the car, he shows up and we head over to our 40'x60' garage and he starts to get out his phone to take a picture, confusing me.

Siting in front of me as I open the door is my Delorean.

For info on the car check my kinja page.

Whoa that is an awesome story!!!

Should definitely be re-posted on Oppo. Did you get authorship (out of the grey) or do need one of the mods to approve you?
